Hi Dr. Choo !

I have an appointed next week with my dentist... but due to the fact that this is a new dentist ( havnt seen one in 16 months ) , they did not give me the chance to ask my question and said to wait until next week.

At Xmas, I was eating chips ... and one chip went in my gums a bit... near my tooth. It hurt for a few days... became a bit bigger... and over night my tooth would bleed . Now... it does not hurt anymore, but where the swelling occured... that piece of skin from the gum seems to be wanting to come off ... is that normal ? Will there be a whole under that little bubble ? Should i ask my dentist to see me sooner ? Or am i safe ?

Thanks for helping.

Sounds like you had a gum infection. A piece of food gets lodged under the gum and festers into an abscess. The pain is from the pus swelling up under the gum. Once the swelling "pops", there is generally no more pain. The flappy gums and the bubble could disappear on its own but in some instances, it may require antibiotics, periodontal therapy, and possibly gum surgery to fix the problem.

Since you aren't in any more pain, you can wait until your appointment next week. But if the pain returns, I would recommend asking for an earlier appointment.

Hi, About 2 years ago, I had a root canal and crowing done to one of my rooth (septermber 2008). The sensation of pain is always there. I always convinced myself, the pain will go away in time. It is been few days the I feel more pain. I could not sleep last night because of the pain (2/2/10). I went to the dentist who did my root canal on 2/03/10. Dentist took a exaray and said nothing wrong with that tooth. He thinks the tooth next to it is problem. I said no. He want me to fuck another tooth up. I asked him if he can redo the root canal on the same tooth. He said it is not possible. He said I need see a dentist that can pull that tooth out.
I request him to write me a antibiotics priscription. He did. I will take the medicne and see if the pain goes away. If not see a 2nd dentist for recommendation. If noting works I will pull out the tooth by myself. I wish I did not go see this dentist. This dentist does not have good manner plus when I saw his ratings online, his rating is very poor. His name is DR. Wing F. Chan. http://www.healthgrades.com/local-doctors-directory/by-specialty/endodontics/maryland-md/rockville-endodontists

He not even know how to talk with his patient nicely. I think he is a charlatan dentist. He is making money doing shitty jobs. I want to bring him to court. It is not for money, but make him aware.
